What Is Chiropractic?

Without the use of drugs or invasive surgical techniques, chiropractic aims to restore the body to health, as well as preventing further injury, by addressing and improving the structural integrity of the body. Attention is primarily focused on the spine, because the spinal cord and nervous system as a whole are the main lines of communication between the brain and the rest of the body. When the right messages aren’t getting through the spine and central nervous system to and from the brain, pain and illness can be the result. 

This means that pain you are experiencing in your hand or arm, for instance, could actually be resulting from an issue in the neck region of your body, where the nerves that connect the brain to the hand originate. A trained and qualified chiropractor can identify, treat, improve and prevent disorders that affect the musculoskeletal system by examining the spine, finding any interferences and removing them through a series of established and controlled techniques.
